Northville’s Mill Race Village Photographer Policy

May 11, 2011

I’m sad to say that for the foreseeable future I’ll no longer be shooting client portraits at Mill Race Village.  However, I’ll still photograph at Mill Race Village if I’m the booked photographer for your wedding or other event that takes place on their grounds.  The Northville Historical Society has decided to charge professional photographers and videographers $500 per year to take photos or videos on the grounds of Mill Race Village.

Mill Race Village is a great location for portraits, but I simply cannot justify the business expense of the permit!   Plus, there are plenty of other locations near Mill Race that offer creative locations/backdrops for my clients.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about this issue.

Lansing Michigan Engagement Portraits – Sneak Peek

May 11, 2011

On April 30, 2011 I had the pleasure to photograph Michelle and Don’s engagement portraits for their upcoming August wedding.  We met up at the Michigan State University’s Horticulture Gardens in Lansing and had a great time!

We scheduled the session back in late January and at that time I would have bet money that Spring would have been in full bloom by April 30th.   Boy was I wrong!  We’ve had a very long Winter this year in Michigan and I would say that the blooms were about 3 weeks behind where they should have been by late April.   Mother Nature must be better behaved when I photograph their wedding in August.   Hopefully it won’t snow :)  …

The parents took advantage of my current “No Cost Creation Fee” promotion for children between the ages of 1 and 5.  This promo expires on May 31, 2011, please contact me for more information if you’re interested in this limited time offer.
