Kidney Walk at Concordia University, Ann Arbor MI

2010 Summer Bridal Show

I will be a featured vendor at this summer’s Bridal Show at the Howell Opera House.  The show runs from Noon – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday August 1, 2010.  Admission for the show is $5.00 per person and is payable at the door, but you can download a free 2 person admission coupon here: http://theweddingsolutiononline.com/images/0801_coupon.pdf .

Detroit River Red Bull Air Races

I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t really know what to expect when I agreed to go the Red Bull Races a few weeks ago with my niece and her husband.  I went to boat races on the Detroit river years ago and didn’t really care for them.  I even attended the Grand Prix a few times and found the races fun for the 1.5 seconds that cars zoomed by.  But, the June 6th Red Bull Races were a total blast!  The mini air show before the races was cool too.  It’s not very often that you see WWII era planes flying over the Detroit River!

We arrived early to get a good spot in front of the Ren Cen.  I was able to cature some really amazing photographs, in fact I shot almost 1600 photos during the day   Here are just a few of my favs.

Recent Wedding

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting Sara and Matthew’s wedding.  The wedding ceremony was held at St. Pat’s in White Lake and the reception was at Walden Woods in Howell.  Walden Woods is a beautiful location and their whole staff was very helpful and supportive of the wedding vendors.  As a wedding photographer, I can assure you that this level of support is more often the exception rather than the norm!  I’ll be back, that’s for sure

I was planning on spending more time with the wedding party for some sunset photos, but the skies opened up with some crazy rain and we had to cut our time outside short.  Regardless of the weather, it was a wonderful wedding and a good time was had by all!

“Kidney Walk at the Detroit Zoo”

On Sunday May 16th I shot the team photos for the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan’s “Kidney Walk at the Detroit Zoo”. My sister passed away from kidney cancer a little over 10 years ago and it’s my pleasure to volunteer my services for such a great cause.

March for Babies at Kensington MetroPark

I’ll be shooting the March of Dimes – “March for Babies” walk at Kensington MetroPark this Sunday.  A few of my friends from the Livingston County Photographers Group will also be there helping out, so if you’re walking at Kensington stop by and say hello!

Over the past few years I’ve helped shoot the March of Dimes Fall Chef Auction event in Ann Arbor and I’m looking forward to Sunday’s walk.  The March of Dimes is a great charity and it’s my pleasure to volunteer my time and talents to help them out.   As Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we do, but we make a life by what we give.”
